“Corrupt officials are the termites of woodwork, eating at the very foundations of our progress.” So that is what we have to deal with. And that is why we find it important to make corruption the subject matter today.
Torgbui Afede bemoaned ordinary Ghanaians’ deteriorating standards of living, rising inflation, and the continuous depreciation of the cedi. All these, he says, are indications that Ghanaians have been bad at managing their country.
Ace Journalist and Anti-Corruption crusader Manasseh Azure speaking at the function reiterated that corruption is the major cause of Ghana’s anti-progress. Further, he alleged that the Covid -19 presented an avenue for politicians to loot state funds.
The people were encouraged to desist from corruption and expose people engaged in the act, as this would help secure resources for the country’s development. The Asogli State Anti-Corruption Day will become a part of the annual yam festival of the Asogli people.
