The absence of speed ramps on the main Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom highway in the upper east has prompted petitions from inhabitants of Tilli, Zebilla, and Koburi townships.
According to the populace, speed ramps would reduce the number of frequent pedestrian knockdowns and traffic accidents brought on by speeding motorists.
At least 20 pedestrian knockdowns were recorded were June 2021 and June tis year, according to information made accessible to the Zebilla MTTD.

Recently, a military vehicle ran over a large number of motorcycles and stores in the Zebilla municipality, hurting many people.

Others advocated for stringent enforcement of local government bylaws to act as a deterrent to careless road users.
Later, the protesters delivered a petition to the Bawku West district chief executive, Alhaji Issahaku Ahmed Tahiru, at his office.
