The suspects, Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adejetey, were arrested on September 4, 2026, after police, acting on intelligence, laid an ambush at Ashalley Botwe Old Town.
The Madina Divisional Police Command alleged that the two suspects were involved in a plot to assassinate a Susu collector at the Ashalley Botwe Taxi Rank.
Police say the two were arrested while allegedly preparing to carry out the planned attack.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Altine allegedly owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and, following repeated demands for repayment, allegedly conspired with Adejetey to arrange her assassination.
The suspects were arraigned before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026.
Their pleas were not taken, and the court remanded them into police custody to reappear on September 22, 2026.
The case remains under investigation, with police expected to pursue further leads and establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged plot.
The allegations against the suspects have not been tested in court.
