Police Arrest Suspect Over Viral Threat Against High Court Judge

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a viral video in which threats were made against High Court Judge, Justice Patricia Quansah.

The arrest follows a formal petition submitted by the Judicial Service of Ghana after the video circulated widely across TikTok, X, and other online platforms.

According to Police, the video contained threats, abusive language, and allegations seeking to impute criminal conduct against the judge.

After sustained intelligence gathering by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team, the suspect, identified as John Kwabena Owusu-Ansah, aged 49, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday, March 27, 2026, at his hideout in Antoakrom in the Ashanti Region.

He is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be put before court.

The Ghana Police Service says it remains committed to protecting the integrity of the judiciary and will take firm action against individuals who use digital platforms to threaten public officials or undermine the rule of law.
