Labour Export Programme: Government Begins Overseas Posting of Health Workers

Government Dispatches 121 Health Professionals Abroad

Government has commenced the overseas deployment of Ghanaian health professionals under the Ghana Labour Export Programme, with the first batch dispatched to the Caribbean to provide critical health services.

The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandor, says the initiative represents a major milestone in government’s efforts to create international employment opportunities for skilled Ghanaians, while also deepening bilateral cooperation with partner countries.

A total of 121 health workers have departed Ghana for Antigua and Barbuda, where they will offer professional services in various health facilities across the island nation.

The deployment forms part of broader government measures aimed at reducing unemployment, particularly among trained health professionals, while positioning Ghana as a reliable source of skilled labour on the global market.
