A deadly attack on Sunday, October 26, 2025, has left three people dead and two others injured in Binduri Sakpari Natinga, a community in the Binduri District of the Upper East Region.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when unidentified gunmen stormed a house and opened fire on the occupants. The landlord and two students were killed instantly, while two others sustained gunshot wounds and are currently receiving treatment at the Garu Hospital.

The chief of Sakpari, Naba Salafu Akolbilla, has expressed deep concern over what he described as the government’s inadequate response to the worsening security situation in the Binduri area. He accused some military personnel stationed in the community of aggravating tensions rather than restoring peace.
“The way the government is handling the issues in Binduri is worrisome. We suspect that the military stationed here is adding friction to kill us. Something must be done about it,” Naba Salafu Akolbilla, Chief of Sakpari.

The chief has called for an immediate review of security operations in Binduri, urging authorities to investigate the deployment and activities of the military in the district. He appealed for swift and decisive action to restore calm and ensure the safety of residents.

The violence has already disrupted normal life in the area, forcing schools to shut down as fear grips the community.
In a separate development, the residence of the Member of Parliament for Binduri was reportedly set ablaze by unknown gunmen, deepening the community’s sense of insecurity.
The recent spate of attacks has left Binduri residents living in fear, with many calling on the government and security agencies to act swiftly to prevent further bloodshed.
