The Central Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for six suspects who escaped from lawful custody at the Kotokuraba Police Station on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The escape occurred around 8:40 pm after the supervising inspector sent the station orderly to buy food for the inmates, who had complained of hunger. When the inmates later requested water to flush the WC due to a lack of running taps, the inspector opened the cell door to provide them access. At that moment, six of the eight inmates, identified as Kofi Asifuah, Ernest Kojo, Ekow Arhinful, Toffic Faisal, Henry Kwofie, and Innusah Addai, overpowered the officer and fled.
Despite a swift search operation led by the District Commander and the night patrol team, the suspects remain at large.
Police are urging the public to assist with credible information that could lead to the re-arrest of the escapees. Information can be shared through the police emergency numbers 18555 and 0299205854, or by reporting to the nearest police station.
