The Ghana Police Service has confirmed it is investigating an incident captured in a viral video showing a police officer assaulting a reporter.
According to the statement, the officer has been withdrawn from ongoing election duty at Ablekuma North and, in line with internal disciplinary procedures, has been interdicted.
The matter has been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) for a formal investigation.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that a thorough investigation will be carried out and pledged to provide further updates as the process continues.
