
The Volta Regional Police Command has arrested twenty-six (26) suspects in an intelligence-led operation targeting drug-related activities at the Aflao Border enclave.
The operation, conducted on Saturday, 24th May 2025, forms part of ongoing efforts by the Police to clamp down on suspected drug peddling and other related criminal activities in the region.

According to the Police, the suspects were arrested at various locations within the Aflao area. A range of exhibits were retrieved from them, including:
- Twenty (20) wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp
- Twelve (12) sachets of Tramadol tablets
- A quantity of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, stored in a rubber bucket
- Cash sums of 30,558 cedis and 17,500 CFA
- Six (6) drug-laced toffees
- Eight (8) creams suspected to contain narcotic substances
- Twenty-six (26) compressed parcels of suspected Indian hemp concealed in a fertilizer sack

All suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned before court to face charges as investigations continue.
The Volta Regional Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and maintaining public safety, urging residents to support the fight by reporting suspicious activities.
