At least 19 passengers sustained serious injuries after two Sprinter Benz buses collided at Awutu Bonsuoku on the Gomoa Ojobi–Senya Bereku road in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region.
The accident, which occurred around 4:00 a.m., involved vehicles with registration numbers AC-804-16 and GR-5137-18.

Eyewitness Kennedy Awuah told Ghone News that residents heard a loud crash early in the morning and rushed to the scene, where they discovered the two buses had collided in the middle of the road.
“It appears one of the drivers may have been sleeping,” he added.
Senya Bereku District Police Commander, DSP Kingsley Asante, confirmed the incident, attributing it to poor weather conditions combined with suspected driver fatigue.

Four victims in critical condition have been transferred to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for emergency care.
Thirteen others are being treated at Hope Christian Hospital in Gomoa Fetteh, while two additional victims are receiving care at the Senya Bereku Polyclinic.

One of the injured passengers, Ebenezer Eshun, who was on board the bus traveling from Kasoa to Senya Bereku, also alleged the driver fell asleep behind the wheel, leading to the collision.
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
