Wisdom Boxing Promotions Salafest set to roll on April 13

Wisdom Boxing Promotions, Winner of Ghana’s best boxing promotions house for 2023, returns in 2024 with an exciting show for boxing lovers.

In a WBP style, the bout is centred on Eid Mubarak, a celebration of Islam after a month-long of Ramadan.

This will be Wisdom Boxing Promotions’ 3rd event since its inception in 2023.

The maiden event was in August dubbed Fight for Education in collaboration with ‘Making Learning Happen’ an NGO, which focuses on using boxing to raise funds for education in Ghana.

In December, Wisdom Boxing Promotions put our Young Warriors Rose Fight night as part of the NSHONA Rave event to give the youth a platform to showcase their talent.

The Salafest dubbed; The Return of the Beast, is headlined by Bastie Samir against Rasheed Idowu from Nigeria in a 10-round UBO Africa Light Heavyweight Championship.

Bastie, the only boxer to have beaten Bukom Banku hopes to reclaim the love of Ghanaians after nearly 2 years.

Bastie Samir urged Ghanaians not to count him out on delivering a world title for Ghana and is using this fight as an opportunity to test his readiness for the big pursuit and dream.

The junior brother of Bastie Samir, Shakur Samed, a 2020 Tokyo Olympian will face experienced Patrice Soutoke of Burkina Faso in another international bout.

The rising pro prospect, Haruna Mohammed will take on veteran George Amuzu for the National Cruiserweight Championship.

Promising Ashiaman-based Nana Adjei Clinton will face Togolese champion Dogbevi.

George Mensah will square up with Abdul Majid in a welterweight contest, while Paul Sackey face Wisdom Agbogbleamenu in an eight-round light heavyweight contest.

Other contenders are Wasiru Mohammad, Paul Sackey, Delali Miledzi and Charles Amartefio.

The event will also showcase next-generation boxers by featuring amateur bouts comprising of Juniors, Elite and a female bout.

The amateur is Theophilus Allotey, a 2-time African bronze medallist.

Another side attraction on the night will be an E-Boxing tournament regulated by the Ghana Esports Association.

The Salafist event is on April 13 at the Decathlon, Kawukudi Car Park, at 5:00 pm.
