
The Suntreso District Police Command has arrested two young men in connection with a street robbery that occurred on the morning of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Alignment, Kwadaso Estate, a suburb of Kumasi.
The suspects, identified as Issah Abdul, aged 22, and Abdul Rahman, aged 20, were reportedly riding an unregistered blue Royal motorbike when they attacked their victim around 5:45 a.m.
One of them, armed with a machete, forcibly robbed her of a handbag containing a Samsung smartphone valued at 2,000 and other personal items.

During the incident, one of the suspects inadvertently dropped his Samsung mobile phone at the scene, which the victim later handed over to the police as evidence.
A swift intelligence-led operation led police to the suspects, who were arrested at Sofoline in possession of the motorbike.
A search of the suspects uncovered four assorted mobile phones and Cash amounting to 1,690
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to the robbery and led investigators to Suame Magazine, where they had hidden the machete used in the attack.
The weapon has since been retrieved and kept as evidence.
The Suntreso District Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to fighting crime and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activity to the police.
