
The Western Central Regional Police Command, Asankragwa Division, has arrested 23-year-old Daniel Yeboah for possessing 66 compressed parcels suspected to be Indian hemp.
The arrest occurred on July 31, 2025, at the Samreboi-Tanokrom snap checkpoint, where officers intercepted Yeboah travelling on a tricycle (popularly known as “Pragia”) with two bags containing the parcels.
During initial questioning, the suspect claimed he had been given the bags by a woman at Wenchi to deliver to her at Mumuni Camp near Samreboi, adding that he was paid GH₵5,000 for the delivery.
Police have launched an investigation to trace and arrest the woman to assist with further inquiries.
Daniel Yeboah is scheduled to be arraigned before court on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The Regional Police Command is appealing to the public to volunteer any information that may help locate the alleged woman or support ongoing investigations.
