The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has interdicted five officers of its Customs Division, effective immediately, following the discovery of serious discrepancies linked to a transit cargo consignment.
In a press release issued on February 24, 2026, the Authority said the interdictions stem from preliminary findings of an enforcement operation conducted on February 18, 2026, involving transit goods declared for onward movement to Niger.

According to GRA management, the operation uncovered irregularities in documentation and non-compliance with established transit procedures, prompting a comprehensive internal investigation. Initial assessments point to possible procedural breaches, necessitating an independent and detailed review to establish the full facts.
The Authority explained that the ongoing investigation will determine the extent of individual involvement, identify any departures from Customs protocols, and may require additional officers to be invited to assist with the probe.
GRA emphasized that appropriate administrative actions will be taken in line with applicable laws and regulations once the investigation is concluded.
The Authority reassured stakeholders and the general public that the interdictions underscore its strong commitment to safeguarding national revenue, protecting local industries, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and integrity in revenue collection and enforcement.
