PWDs in Zebilla Decry Neglect as District Assembly Boycotts their Durbar

The Bawku West District Assembly has rejected invitations to participate in a durbar organized by the association of persons living with disability, PWDs, to observe the international day of PWDs.

Meanwhile, the Bawku west district president of the PWDs, Solomon Ayaaba, is demanding that the government increase the district assembly common fund to 5%.

the disability common fund is a social protection programme aimed at alleviating poverty among persons with disabilities in Ghana.

Bawku west district president of PWDs, Solomon Ayaaba, has expressed disappointment over the assembly’s treatment of PWDs.

He called for an increase in the common fund allocation for PWDs from the current 2 percent to 5 percent.

Vice chairman of the upper east regional Ghana society of the physically disabled, Alariba Samuel Azumah, is upset with discriminations against them.

Upper east regional chairman of the persons with disabilities, Davia Anania, has meanwhile, began the registration of PWDs towards innovative farming intervention.

This year’s event was under the theme; transformation solutions for inclusive-development; the role of innovation in fostering an accessible and equitable world.
