Police Restore Calm in Boadua as Eight Arrested Over Chieftaincy Dispute

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has swiftly restored calm in Boadua following a chieftaincy dispute that threatened to escalate into widespread unrest within the community.

On Saturday, December 14, 2025, police received a complaint from Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua alleging that members of the Boadua Aduana Family had stormed the Boadua Chief’s Palace, damaged the main entrance, and forcibly entered the premises to destroy a shrine in an attempt to take over the palace from the Bretuo Family.

Upon receiving the report, police promptly moved to the palace and successfully restored order.

Eight suspects—Baffour Kwame Agyei Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampabeng, and Baffour Yaw Anya—were arrested to assist with investigations.

The suspects have been granted police enquiry bail and are expected to be arraigned before the court on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Police have appealed to residents to remain calm and allow the law to take its course as investigations continue.
