Police in the Half Assini Division have rescued a 12-year-old boy who appeared in a disturbing viral video being tortured by two adults in the New Ankasa community near Elubo.
The child was seen tied with a nylon rope and hanging from the roof of a building while being subjected to severe beatings.
According to initial reports, the assault was allegedly a punishment for stealing 200.00 cedis.
Two suspects, Issah Morro, 58, and Suleman Abdul Rashid, 27, who were captured in the video administering the abuse, have been arrested.
They are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
The victim has since received medical attention and has been reunited with his father.
The Half Assini Police Command assures the public of its commitment to safety and security and encourages all citizens to promptly report any suspicious or harmful behavior to the nearest police station.
