The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect, Yahaya Seidu, for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition at Aponteng Krom in the Western Region.
The arrest was made on Wednesday, May 29, 2025, after the suspect was found in possession of a locally manufactured pistol. Upon questioning, Seidu was unable to provide any lawful justification for carrying the weapon.
A search conducted by officers at the scene led to the retrieval of one locally manufactured pistol and two live cartridges.
The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations, and will be arraigned before court in due course.
