The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects at Kasoa in the Central Region after recovering twenty-one mobile phones believed to have been stolen during Easter festivities.
The suspects—Anthony Fiave, 25; Bright Owusu, 30; Kwaku Appiah, 38; and John Addai, 39—were arrested on Monday, April 6, 2026.
Police say the arrest followed a stop-and-search operation conducted by the Kasoa Divisional Police patrol along the Kasoa–Ofaakor–Bawyiase–Swedru road as part of security measures to ensure a crime-free Easter celebration.

At about 3:45 a.m., officers intercepted a Toyota Hiace vehicle with registration number GB 6246-22. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of twenty-one assorted mobile phones suspected to have been stolen.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly carried out a mobile phone stealing spree at Agona Swedru during Easter activities, targeting unsuspecting victims and making away with several phones of different brands.
The suspects are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations, while the recovered mobile phones have been retained as exhibits.
Police have urged individuals who may have lost their phones during the Easter celebrations at Agona Swedru to report to the Kasoa Divisional Police Command to help identify and retrieve their property.
The Central East Regional Police Command has commended officers involved in the operation and assured the public of its continued commitment to ensuring safety and bringing offenders to justice during and beyond the festive season.
