Peki-Wudome is one of the oldest in the Peki traditional council with serene environment for tourism and agriculture.

The topography of the area exposes it to severe erosion that affects the built environment.

But calls for interventions continue to elude the people.

Led by the Peki-Wudome development council, and under the auspices of the Dufia, Togbe Keh Agbezorli, the community has decided to take up the challenge.

A 3.3-million-cedi township road rehabilitation project was then launched with funding from individual levies.

The project would cover layouts, drainage construction and bitumen surfacing of all the link roads.

Chairperson for the infrastructure and development committee is Gifty Quarm.

We are moving, even though we do not have the money, we are encouraging the community. We are determined because once we do it small, small, small, we will be able to do it. We costed it street by street hoping that a benevolent organization can come and take up one street.

The 2022 annual Luku conference raised additional 40,000 cedis towards the project.

So, we pleading to everybody, let benevolent bodies, let ngos, the government, individuals, come in to assist us because there is a lot that we are doing. We have acquired land for the establishment of a community centre with about 3,500 capacity.

District chief executive for South-Dayi, Godwin Daadzawa, commended the people of Peki-Wudome for the initiative.

All the natives, the traditional leadership, that is the traditional authority, citizens of Wudome both home and abroad, you are unique. If you have a good leader, who is a visionary leader, you will save development. I will plead with other communities, not only the citizens, to emulate what Peki-Wudome is doing.
