One person died instantly while two sustained serious injuries after suspected Fulani herdsmen shot them in Agogo on Saturday, March 19.

It is unclear what might have triggered the incident but youth of the area say it is connected to the raging fracas between the indigenous residents and the nomadic herdsmen.

The body of the deceased, 32, has since been deposited at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital mortuary while the injured are receiving treatment at the the same hospital.

The police are said to have quickly rushed to the scene to forestall any reprisal attacks.

Meanwhile, youth of the area are considering an emergency meeting on Sunday to deliberate on happenings in the area.

President of the Agogo Youth Association Emmanuel Buabeng told tv3network.com that the meeting is not in reaction to the fresh shootings.

He added that a stakeholders’ meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 to find a lasting solution to the conflict, which has led to the loss of several lives.
