Three persons were reported injured during violent clashes that ensured among supporters and members of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Women and Youth organizers conference and elections in Cape Coast on Saturday December 10.
The violent followed disagreements among the camps of various support groups of candidates vying for positions.
The intervention of the Police brought the situation under control for the processes to continue to the end without any further incident.
The police say while proceedings were ongoing at the Congress, two rival groups violently clashed throwing stones, blocks, sticks, clubs, chairs among others, causing injury to three persons and the destruction to property.
Preliminary police investigations including the review of Police-specific video footages of the event has identified some 16 suspects as some of the people involved in the violence and have been declared wanted.
A 10,000 cedi reward has also been set aside for any member of the public who can provide credible information that can lead the police to the arrest any of the suspects.
The police says further investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest other perpetrators of the violence to face justice.
