The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a man suspected to be the ringleader of a drug trafficking network operating in Dobro, near Amasaman in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The arrest was made in the early hours of Friday, June 6, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., during an intelligence-led operation.
According to NACOC officials, the suspect, believed to be in his 40s and a known local youth leader, is alleged to have played a central role in the illegal distribution of narcotics in the area.

During the raid, officers discovered 28 slabs of compressed dried leaves, believed to be cannabis, along with a variety of other illicit drugs at the suspect’s residence.
‘This arrest is a significant breakthrough in our ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking and distribution networks in the Amasaman enclave, ‘ a senior NACOC official said.
Items Retrieved from the Suspect Include:
- 28 slabs of suspected cannabis
- Several sachets and wraps of unidentified powdered substances
- Scales and packaging materials commonly used in narcotics trade
- Cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales

The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations. Officials say further arrests may follow as NACOC intensifies efforts to trace and neutralize the wider network.
The Commission has urged the public to report suspicious drug-related activities to help combat the spread of narcotics, particularly in youth-dominated communities.
