The ambassador of japan has supported the Ghana police service with 23 vehicles and a few communication tools.
The assistance package was a component of the grant the Japanese government provided to the government of Ghana, designed to improve police operations.
There has been a close relationship of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and japan since the beginning of bilateral ties following Ghana’s independence in 1957.
Since then, japan has shown tangible assistance for ghanta’s socio-economic development across a range of sectors, in the areas of infrastructure development, energy, agriculture, health, education and law enforcement.
Two of the most crucial components of modern and efficient policing are mobility and excellent communication technologies.
The governments of Japan and Ghana entered into an economic and social development project in February 2019, for the purchase of vehicles and communication equipment for the police.
The interior minister, Ambrose Dery, expressed his enthusiasm for the government of Japan’s continued assistance for law enforcement.
In accordance with the 2019 economic and social development project agreement, 19 pickup trucks and four 4×4 vehicles were provided.
