‘I did not Commit the Crime Intentionally’– Adum Murder Suspect tells Court

The prime suspect in the murder of 26-year-old Victoria Dapaah, aka, Maadwoa at Adum-kumasi, has told the Asokore Mampong District Court that it was not his intention to kill the deceased, although, he went to demand a refund of five thousand cedis he has given to her.

The accused, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, a man clothed by the state to check crimes, arrest and handcuff wrongdoers, appeared at the Asokore Mampong District Court in handcuff.

According to the prosecutor, acp Kofi Blagodzie, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, used his service pistol to commit the crime.

He was charged with one count of murder.

The plea of the accused was not taken.

However, acp Kofi Blagodzie hinted, there would be more charges at the next hearing

He told the court, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, killed Maadwoa over a 5,000 cedis the accused claim the deceased owed him.

It was also revealed at the court that Inspector Ahmed Twumasi used a service pistol to commit the crime.

However, the judge sought to know from the accused if he had anything to say

In response, Inspector Twumasi told the court; “I have no intention to commit the crime; what happened is between me and God”.

He was remanded into police custody to reappear on May 30.

It was an emotional day at the Asokore Mampong district court as police needed reinforcement to escort, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi from the court premises.
