Over 3 million Ghanaians who have registered for the Ghana card but are yet to collect them, are likely to have their banking transactions halted by July 1, if the synchronization of all banking operations with the national ID goes ahead.
As of Monday, June 27, the staggering numbers were yet to collect their cards from the 261 MMDA collection centres.
Effective July 1, all banking transactions are to be synchronized with the Ghana card.
As of Monday, June 27, 16.4 million cards have been printed out of over 16.6 million registered persons, thus leaving a backlog of about 312, 542 to be printed.
13.3 million cards have been issued to the respective owners.
The remaining 3.02 million are yet to be collected, with just three days to the banking transaction deadline.
