A swift intelligence-led operation by the Ghana Police Service has led to the arrest of five suspects linked to a violent multi-target robbery at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region, an attack that saw armed assailants raid a police station, financial institutions, and make away with two AK-47 rifles.
The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a coordinated armed robbery attack at Nkaseim in the Asutifi North District of the Ahafo Region.

The suspects, Mutar Kofi, Mahamadu Sagio (alias Salifu), Shaibu Issah Jallo (alias Jibo), Abdul Suleman, and Bukari Sulley (alias Tailor), were arrested on separate dates following sustained intelligence gathering and forensic investigations.
The robbery occurred on December 2, 2025, when the suspects and their accomplices, armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso–Tepa Road and launched simultaneous attacks on the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and areas around the Asutifi Rural Bank.

During the attack, the assailants made away with two AK-47 service rifles. They also stole cash from the rural bank, ¢14,000 from the cocoa buying company, and ¢12,000 from the gold buying company. An employee of the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company was shot and injured during the incident.
On January 16, 2026, the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit arrested Mutar Kofi, aged 35, a commercial tricycle rider, at a location known as “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim. He admitted his involvement in the robbery.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Mahamadu Sagio, aged 45, an illegal miner and resident of Nkaseim; Shaibu Issah Jallo, aged 28, a trader at Chereponi; and Abdul Suleman, aged 40, a herdsman at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region.

On January 25, 2026, police arrested Bukari Sulley, alias Tailor, aged 25, a trader at Alaba, Kumasi, in connection with the robbery.
Police say efforts have been intensified to arrest Hoyeefi, identified as the gang leader and believed to be in possession of the stolen AK-47 rifles, as well as two other suspects, Dauda and Mohammed Ali, who are currently on the run.
The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to remain vigilant and take personal security seriously, particularly against cyber and online crimes. The public is advised to avoid sharing personal or financial information with unknown persons and to be cautious of unsolicited messages or calls.

Motorists, especially those driving at night or in isolated areas, are encouraged to remain alert, secure their vehicles, avoid picking up unknown persons, and exercise caution when responding to distress signals that may be staged.
The Police further urged the public to report any suspicious activity immediately to the nearest police station.
On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Service commended officers involved in the operation for their dedication and professionalism and expressed appreciation to members of the public and the media for their continued support in the fight against crime.
