EOCO to Meet GUTA Over Tax Evasion

The economic and organized crime office, EOCO, is to meet the Ghana Union of Traders, GUTA, on Monday June 13.

The meeting is at the request of GUTA following claims and agitation that management of EOCO is a harassment on their trade.

One of the mandates of the economic and organized crime office, EOCO, is to ensure monies due the state is duly honoured by all.

However, members of the Ghana union trader’s association, GUTA, felt they are being harassed by the eoco, which is ensuring that everyone honour his/her financial obligation to the state.

The Monday meeting is to explain to them why the office must monitor for tax evasion purposes.
