The 14th edition of the Deluxy Professional Boxing League left patrons at the Bukom Boxing Arena in a state of complete bewilderment, with a frenzied performance from the boxers on the bill and a thunderous dose of entertainment.
The enthusiasm that filled the stadium made patrons defy the showers that had been falling throughout the day, and it was absolutely worth it.
The first fight of the evening was a Welterweight match that over six rounds and featured former kickboxer Aminu Quarshie of Attoh Quarshie Gym and Ernest Ampah of Akotoku Academy.
Due to their recent great victories in their respective previous matches, both boxers were in a strong position to prevail.
As a result, the battle was fiercely contested and included several knockdowns, with each fighter visiting the canvas at least once.
The result in the end was a majority draw.
The Pride of Chorkor, Paul Sackey, made his professional debut after finishing a powerfully muscled Samuel Aforley in round two of their Light Heavyweight match.
Then a Bantamweight blockbuster fit for the gods featuring Mohammed Fuseini of Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation and Jerry Klutei Robertson from the Gym follow next.
These two put on a masterful demonstration of talent, perseverance, and aggression.
The massive fan bases for both boxer continued to yell and demand more fights.
In the end, Fuseini was declared the winner by majority decision, a decision, which was objected to it by the supporters of Robertson.
Another prospect, Enoch Tetteh of Sonia Gym faced off against David Tagoe from the Wisdom Gym in the Super Bantamweight division, which ended in a split decision win for Tetteh.
In a Super Featherweight contest that lasted six rounds, Eric Quarm of Fit Square defeated Bernard Ankrah of The Black Panthers Boxing Gym on points.
Charles Tetteh, the man of the moment and audience favorite from The Panix Gym, put on yet another fierce performance to defeat Michael Tagoe from The Seconds Out Boxing Gym through stoppage in round two of their Featherweight contest.
There was also some amateur and juvenile action at the biweekly event organized by Imax Media Group Promotions in association with the Ghana Boxing Authority and shown live on Max Tv.
King Jerry and Bukom Banku both gave musical performances.
