Dansoman Police Commended (Video)

The police in Dansoman have been commended for their swift role in arresting the killers of a Chinese woman.

The prime suspect, Jacob Kwesi Acquah, a former employee of the deceased together with two accomplices is currently before the Kaneshie district facing murder charges.


The police arrested the 37-year-old driver, Jacob Kwesi Acquah for allegedly killing a Chinese national, Xiong yin, at Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.

Acquah, a former employee of the deceased, was said to have gone to her house to demand the contact of her house help.

He allegedly followed xiong into her bedroom when she was about to get the phone number, pushed her onto the bed and suffocated her with a pillow.

The 21-year-old house help,  Faustina Otimah, and Memunatu Allotey, a trader who allegedly aided Acquah in the murder were also arrested and are before the Kaneshie district court.

Acquah, after the act, proceeded to where a CCTV camera was fixed, removed it from the ceiling and dumped it in a water closet with the intention of erasing any trace of evidence that might implicate him.

The police retrieved the memory card of the CCTV camera where Acquah was seen in the footage entering the living room of the deceased.

Jacob Kwesi Acquah was later traced to Memunatu’s house where he was hiding and arrested them.

The Chinese community in Ghana commended the Dansoman police for the swift manner in which they reacted to the heinous crime.

president of the association, Tang Hong, also presented 50,000 cedis to the police as a sign of appreciation.


The Dansoman Divisional Police Commander, ACP Joseph Owusu-Bempah, was delighted over the gesture and honour done them.
