The Accra Regional Police Command has obtained a High Court order prohibiting all outdoor and public events for the remainder of the 2025 Teshie Homowo festival.
The move follows violent clashes during the festivities that left two people dead and several others injured.
According to the court order, dated 29th August 2025, only traditional rites will be permitted on Saturday, 30th August, and Sunday, 31st August 2025.
Police have urged the public, especially the rival factions, to comply with the directive, warning that any violations will attract swift enforcement, including arrests and prosecution.
