The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested twelve suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations targeting robbery networks across the region.
Police say three of the suspects have been directly linked to the murder of the Kusasi Chief at Asawase in Kumasi.

The suspects are: Abdalah Alhassan, Jemini Usman alias Babamu, Aminu Iddrisu alias 0244, Illiasu Dauda, Majeed Issaka Jibril, Gafaru Ibrahim, Mohammed Mumuni alias Mama, Tanko Malik alias Bronze, Mohammed Bawa alias Mallam, Dramani Musah, Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow.

According to police, Jemini Usman alias Babamu, Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow have been specifically linked to the killing of the chief.
A Toyota Corolla with registration number GC 439-21, believed to have been used in the crime, has also been retrieved.
During the operations, two suspects—Illiasu Bawa and David Aheto—sustained gunshot injuries and were later pronounced dead.

Police also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition, including two AK-47 rifles, a pump-action gun, two pistols, and dozens of rounds of ammunition.
One suspect, identified as Illiasu alias Abodam, remains on the run, with police intensifying efforts to arrest him.

The Police Command says the operations form part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on violent crime and restore public safety in the region.
