The Bawku Technical school and the Bawku Senior High School in the upper east region have been temporarily shut down after violent clashes between the two schools that left several students injured.
Several buildings in both schools were also damaged during the incident.
The violence was reportedly after repeated incidents of students of the Bawku technical breaking curfew hours to go to the Bawku senior high school to create disturbances.
According to the Bawku senior high school, senior house master, Bukari Abugbilla, a similar incident earlier in the week compelled one of the housemasters to chase the students out of the school’s compound.
Not happy with the action by the housemaster, the Bawku technical students mobilized to invade the senior high Saturday night.
They reportedly burnt motorbikes belonging to teachers and other property.
The injured students have been while been treated and discharged while a number of students have reportedly been arrested by the police but have been granted bail.
This is the second time the two schools have clashed.
