This was disclosed during a visit to the bereaved family by a high-powered delegation of the police management board in Wa.
The delegation led by the director general of police administration, cop. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, was at the family house of the deceased at Dondoli, a suburb of Wa in the upper west region to commiserate with the family.
Shahid Abubakar was shot dead by the anti-robbery unit of the police in the region on Wednesday, march 8, at about 8:30pm.
cop. Christina Tetteh Yohuno expressed the deepest condolence on behalf of the police administration and assured them of their resolve to probe the incident.
According to him, the inspector general of police, has tasked two different investigation teams to probe the circumstance leading to the death of shahid.
The family spokesperson, Mohammed Tamim, welcomed the effort of the police.
He however urged the police service to ensure that fairness and justice prevails.
Chief imam for the Ghana police service, superintendent, Abdur Rahim Hussein, preformed special prayers for the departed soul and the entire family.
