The WBO featherweight world title fight between Dogboe and Robeisy “El Tren” Ramirez is scheduled for April 1, 2023, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to news reports in the USA, Dogboe, who wants to make history once more, has stepped up his preparations.
At the Headbangers Gym in the Bald Eagle Recreation Center in Washington, DC, Isaac Dogboe, trained by Barry Hunter and Patrice Harris, is putting a lot of effort into winning his second championship.
Robeisy Ramirez, a southpaw who has won two gold medals at the Olympics, is reportedly also prepared for his first shot at the world championship.
The 29-year- old teamed up with Cuban coach Ismael Salas,who has assisted him in focusing his abilities into a more polished style.
In 2022, Ramirez won three fights in a row by knockout.
With a single straight left hand, he defeated then-unbeaten challenger Abraham Nova and Irish veteran Eric Donovan.
He defeated Jose Matias Romero in October of last year by ninth-round TKO.
When asked about his maiden attempt at a world title, Ramirez said:
“Main event. The world championship is at stake. Since I started boxing professionally, this is what I’ve wished for and pleaded for constantly. I view this contest as the ideal platform from which to demonstrate my abilities to the world and argue that I am the finest fighter in the featherweight class. Life has always been about perpetual hunger for me. At this level, talent is insufficient on its own. Real success entails developing further, making progress, and overcoming challenges and setbacks to achieve greatness. I’ve been through real adversity in life, so spending a few weeks up in the mountains won’t break me. As with all the challenges I overcame to get where I am, it will only make me stronger. I am proud of my amateur boxing career and of becoming a ‘Cuban Academy of Boxing’ graduate. But, I have always added my own components to the mix. I’d like to speak up and amuse people as well. El Tren is more than just a moniker; it sums up who I am as a warrior. Boxing is ultimately a sport for the audience. And if they like my approach, I won’t hesitate to take on the challenge of showing the way for many others who want to shatter the stereotype of the highly competent but uninteresting Cuban boxer. I will achieve my aim of winning the world championship on April 1, but I believe that my best performances in this sport are yet to come”.
But, Isaac Dogboe, 28, who also enjoys going by the name “Neho,” is not frightened of either words or of anyone in the ring.
He is confident he will succeed and sees it as another chance to win a title for the Ghanaian people.
Samuel Gyan, vice president of the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GHABSU), Samuel Gyan, and The president of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Abraham Kotei Neequaye, both believe the championship is returning home.
Looking at the records, boxing promoter and manager, Eugene Sackey concurs that Dogboe has the upper hand.
“The Cuban Robeisy Ramirez has never faced anyone like him and will demonstrate that he is the greatest in the weight class, but Isaac Dogboe I thinks has what it takes to defeat him.
Dogboe, who has lost twice in his career to Mexico WBO Super Featherweight Champion Emmanuel Naverrete has a record of 24 wins with 15 knockouts, while Ramirez has 11 victories, one loss, and seven knockouts.
A packed card including Ramirez-Dogboe is being shown live and only in the United States on ESPN+.
