Abutia-kpota is a farming community located at south-western part of ho and known for agriculture.
The first president of Ghana, Osagyefo dr. Kwame Nkrumah chose to establish one of the state farms in the area.
The farm until its collapse provided employment for the teaming youth in the Abutia traditional area and beyond.
One of the major activities in the Kpota farms was the production of cotton to feed Juapong textiles, now Volta star textile limited and the Akosombo textile limited.
Efforts to bring back the Kpota state form have never been successful.
The national service scheme later adopted the farmland for the implementation of its agricultural policy targeted at creating over 250 employment.
But that also appears to have fizzled out.
For the past three years farm equipment such as tractors and accessories have been left at the mercy of the weather.
The Volta regional director of national service scheme, Ambrose Entsiwah jnr, has however been explaining the circumstances leading to the halting of activities on the farm lands.
They maintained a timely investment in the farms will restore livelihoods and economic gains in the area.
