The police have arrested a man suspected to be the person in the audio recording describing an alleged incident of criminal behaviour on the part of the police.
In the viral audio, the man who introduced himself as DR Patrick Asiedu claimed that some police officers stopped and planted substances suspected to be narcotics in his car ostensibly to extort money from him.
Police say investigations have established that the man they in custody is called Patrick Asiedu, who drives an uber but not a doctor as claimed in the audio.
The investigations show that the entire story narrated in the audio tape is false and a total fabrication by the suspect.
The release signed by the director of police public affairs directorate ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, noted that none of the claims in the viral audio, including the military intervention, the visit to the east Legon and Accra central police stations were false.
Patrick Asiedu, reportedly told the police that he had witnessed similar incident as he narrated in the audio happened to his passengers.
