Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Train in Agriculture(Video)

Persons living with disabilities have been urged to avail themselves for opportunities in the agriculture sector.

The call was made during a five-day training for some persons with disabilities in selected agriculture skills.

Africa has an estimated eighty million of its population being persons living with disabilities.

In Ghana, persons with disabilities, PWDs, account for 3.7% of the population of close to thirty-one million.

Majority of PWDs have faced issues with access to job opportunities.

The a 5-day training in mushrooms, snails and other agriculture skills for 30 women with disabilities was organized by the social enterprise Ghana.

Beneficiaries want authorities to support persons with disabilities, especially women to maximize their potentials.

Agnes Agboso on her part, urged persons with disabilities to form groups to facilitate access to funding for their initiatives.

Social enterprise Ghana has so far trained over 100 vulnerable women in various skills across the country.
