The leadership of the Battor citizen’s development association in the North Tongu district of the volta region have urged the youth to remain neutral in the ongoing chieftaincy struggle.
The group has also called on stakeholders to speed up the processes of determining the true heir to the traditional area.
This followed the recent shooting incident in Battor that claimed five lives and left others injured.
The December 16 shooting incident at Battor was fueled by a heightened chieftaincy dispute.
It was a reaction to an injection placed on the annual Hogbeza celebration this year.

President of the Battor citizen’s development association, dr. Collins Asilevi, commended the police for their swift intervention that had prevented more bloodshed.
Dr Collins Asilevi, however, urged the police to intensify their effort to bring all perpetrators to book.
He called on the feuding factions to use due process in settling their differences to restore peace.
Dr Asilevi admonished the youths against meddling in the dispute.
The member of parliament for the area, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, appealed to the Battor traditional authority to bury their differences.
The North Tongu district police commander, superintendent George Abaogye, assured of their readiness to restore peace.
Some 15 suspects have been picked up and are on remand in police custody on charges of rioting unlawful gathering, possession of weapons without lawful authority and murder.
They are to re-appear in court in Ho on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
