It has merged that the district chief executive for Ellembele in the western region, Kwasi Bonzoh was arrested for obstruction of lawful duty.
According to the report, the police following days of intelligence-led operations retrieved one of the missing Ellembelle Excavators on Wednesday, September 6, 2022.
The team of intelligence officers working day and night discovered the missing excavator several kilometres into a forest within the Ellembelle District.
While the team was escorting the excavator to Takoradi, the DCE of Ellembelle, Kwasi Bonzo organized and led some thugs to attack the police and obstruct the operation at the Axim Junction.
The DCE and three others were subsequently arrested after a period a scuffle.
The police say they have intensified the investigation to recover the other excavator and arrest all those behind it to face justice.
