NABCO Trainees have given the government a month to fulfill its financial responsibilities.
This comes after the NABCO program officially ended on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

The three year program which was launched in 2018 and was extended through 2021.

The beneficiaries say the non-payment of the allowances largely began with the extension

Nana Barimah, the Coalition’s patron, stated they will sue the government if the deadline passes.

“In as much as government didn’t specify any timelines for which trainees should be expecting payment, government is unprepared to pay NABCO trainees. We anticipate foul play and neglect of payment, so we have given the government a one-month window. If September ends, and we are not paid, we don’t have any other option than to drag government to court.”

The beneficiaries have already announced another demonstration for September 6, 2022, near Jubilee House.

The NABCO Trainees Association noted in a news release on August 29 that the government’s deadline to respond to their appeal from August 18 has passed.
