The ranting retired colonel Damoah wanted to expose the rot in which he is involved in a letter from the ministry of national security to the commissioner general of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, on tax evasion, dated October 21, 2021.

The deputy national security coordinator Edward Asomani signed the letter, which was also copied to the minister of finance. It encouraged the commissioner general to look into tax evasion and government involvement in helping imports thwart the GRA’s efforts to raise domestic income.

The letter was written in response to two cargo vehicles from Aflao that were intercepted at Fiesta Royal traffic interception at Dzowulu in Accra and found to have under-declared and invaded tax.

The product importers had the audacity to challenge the police officials.

The arresting officers were persuaded to release the two vehicles through phone calls when they made a call to retired Colonel Damoah, but they refused.

Edward Asomani further urged the GRA to take action to stop senior officials from sabotaging the efforts of customs agents at various checkpoints across the nation.
