The President of the largest teacher union in Ghana, the Ghana National Association of Teachers, GNAT, reverend Isaac Owusu, is advising female teachers to accept proposals from their male counterparts in order to reduce the rate of sexual abuse against girls in schools.
There has been growing concern over the rate at which teachers sexually abuse the girls they are supposed to teach and groom to become responsible future leaders in the country.
Reacting to the growing public concern the GNAT president condemned the act, describing it as irresponsible but opined that the ungodly behaviour among such teacher could be reduced if their female counterparts accept their proposals.
