A passenger bus traveling from Bawku in the Upper East Region has come under gun attack at Wulugu in the North East Region, leaving several people injured.
Eyewitnesses say the bus was on the Bolgatanga–Tamale highway when it was ambushed by armed assailants who opened fire, triggering panic among passengers.

Several passengers sustained gunshot wounds, with some reported to be in critical condition.
Survivors expressed shock and frustration over what they described as a lack of police presence along the highway before the attack.
“From Bawku to this point, we did not see a single police officer on the road,” one passenger said.
The injured have since been transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement as investigations begin.
More details will be provided as the situation develops.
