Tema Police Arrest Four with 315 Parcels of Suspected Indian Hemp

The Tema Community One District Police have arrested four suspects for possessing substances believed to be Indian hemp.

The operation, conducted on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Community One Industrial Area, followed a tip-off that led to the interception of a truck with registration number GN 7291-16. Upon inspection, officers discovered 315 compressed parcels of the suspected narcotic substance concealed inside the truck’s tyres.

The suspects, identified as Nura Sali (44), Pius Chukwuma (49), Mustapha Umar (18), and Abdulai Amayau (23), were immediately taken into custody and are assisting with investigations.

The Regional Police Command commended the arresting officers for their professionalism and reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying the fight against drug-related offences.

The Command also urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station for swift action.
