
The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in possession of 519 compressed parcels of substances suspected to be Indian hemp at Gomoa Nyanyano in the Central Region.
The operation, carried out at about 7:40 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, was led by the Nyanyano District Police patrol team. The suspects — Eric Nkyeke, 30, and Francis Klu, 28 — were reportedly offloading the parcels from a Toyota Hilux pickup truck with registration number GS-6849-21 when they were apprehended.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while the vehicle has been impounded.
The Central East Regional Police Command commended the arresting officers for their vigilance and reiterated its commitment to tackling drug-related crimes to safeguard communities. It further warned individuals engaged in such activities to desist or face the full rigours of the law.

The Command also urged the public to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious drug-related activities to the nearest police station.
