With the 13th African Games Accra 2023 approaching in less than a fortnight, Executive Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare has tasked journalists covering the event to ensure positive and impact-oriented reportage.
Addressing media personnel during a confab at the Sun Lodge Hotel in Accra, the LOC Head stressed, “We should focus on the positive impact of the African Games on the economy and national cohesion. We can’t let this opportunity go by. There’s a lot to be gained from this event being hosted in Ghana.”
The ace broadcaster also cautioned against politicization and divisive sentiments.
He further urged young and experienced journos alike to utilize the overture and sharpen their expertise accordingly.
Answering a question from Ghana Boxing Federation Spokesperson Jojo Ephson on the involvement of national heroes in the activities, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare hinted that reputed national sporting heroes both home and abroad have been engaged and would be unveiled in due time.
The African Games: Accra 2023 ensues from March 8 to March 23, 2024.
