Veep, Ministers attend Leponwura’s Funeral at Kpembe

Two VVIP vans carrying the Vice President, 40 majority lawmakers, state ministers, and national and regional leaders of the governing New Patriotic Party to Kpembe for the late statesman’s funeral.

The group initially made a courtesy call on the overlord of the Kpembe Traditional Council Kpembewura Banbagne Ndefeso IV.

Vice President Dr. Bawumia praised the late Lapowura MND Jawula as a man who valued peace.

He urged the residents of the Gonja state to protect the late Lepowura’s legacies.

The Ghana Football Association also read tributes in memory of the late Alhaji MND Jawula recaping his emersed contribution to the development of Ghana football.

In the meantime, a two million cedis contemporary library is to be built in Kpembe in memory of the late statesman.

The former football administrator, chief director and traditional ruler, Leponwura, Alhaji MND Jawula died at Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America, on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the age of 73, after a short illness while visiting his children.

Alhaji Jawula, was the founding Director of the Otumfuo Centre for Traditional Leadership at UPSA.
