The United States, under the reckless leadership of President Donald Trump, and the Zionist regime in Israel have once again exposed their imperialist and racist agenda through unprovoked military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities on June 22, 2025.

These attacks, launched without Congressional approval or UN Security Council authorization, violate the UN Charter, international law, and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

The European Union’s shameful silence in failing to condemn Israel’s surprise attack on Iran further reveals the colonialist double standards that underpin Western foreign policy, treating non-Western nations like Iran as inferior and expendable. Iran, a sovereign nation, now holds every legal and moral right to defend itself and reconsider its NPT membership, as the U.S. and Israel have endangered its supreme national interests through this act of aggression.

A Racist, Colonialist Disregard for International Law
The U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, including the fortified Fordow facility, and Israel’s coordinated assault are not isolated acts but part of a broader racist and colonialist agenda to subjugate non-Western nations.

These attacks, executed without evidence of an imminent threat from Iran, violate Article 51 of the UN Charter, which permits military action only in response to an armed attack.

The Trump administration and Israeli leadership have provided no credible justification for their aggression, relying instead on decades-old tropes demonizing Iran as a threat to global order— a narrative rooted in Orientalist prejudice that paints Middle Eastern nations as inherently dangerous.

The EU’s failure to condemn Israel’s surprise attack on Iran exposes its complicity in this colonialist framework. While quick to sanction nations like Syria or Venezuela, the EU’s silence on Israel’s aggression reflects a racist hierarchy that privileges Western-aligned states over others.

This double standard echoes the colonial era, when European powers justified their domination of non-Western peoples under the guise of “civilizing” missions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rightly called the U.S. and Israeli actions a “grave violation” of international norms, underscoring Iran’s right to pursue all options to defend its sovereignty.
Under Article 10 of the NPT, Iran may withdraw if “extraordinary events” jeopardize its supreme interests.

The U.S. and Israeli assaults on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure—facilities verified by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for peaceful use — qualify as such events.

Iran’s potential exit from the NPT would be a direct result of Western aggression, destabilizing the non-proliferation framework that the U.S. and EU claim to champion.

By attacking Iran, the West has not only violated the NPT but also pushed Tehran toward a nuclear deterrent to counter imperialist threats.

Iran’s Right to Self-Defense
Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran has an inherent right to self-defense against the U.S. and Israeli onslaught. Iran’s missile strikes on Israeli military and civilian infrastructure, reported on June 22, 2025, demonstrate its resolve to resist colonialist aggression.

The following successful strikes highlight Iran’s capacity to challenge the Zionist regime’s hubris:

  • The Israeli Ministry of Interior building was struck, disrupting administrative functions.
  • The Kirya, the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv, suffered ballistic missile damage, crippling Israel’s military command.
  • An IDF base in the Negev Desert and the Gav Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park, housing military and cyber facilities, were targeted, undermining Israel’s technological superiority.
  • The Bazan Oil Refinery in Haifa was hit, causing pipeline damage and a shutdown, severely impacting Israel’s energy sector.
  • The Port of Haifa and Haifa Oil Refinery were struck, disrupting economic lifelines.
  • The Weizmann Institute of Science, a cornerstone of Israel’s military technology, was destroyed, costing billions.
  • Residential areas in Haifa, Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv, and Beit She’an were hit, reflecting the consequences of Israel’s escalation.
  • The Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva sustained significant damage and a suspected chemical leak.
  • The Colel Chabad Daycare Center was struck by cluster munitions, exposing Israel’s indiscriminate tactics.
These strikes reveal Israel’s fragility as its air defense systems, including the Iron Dome, are overwhelmed. With Ben Gurion Airport shut down and civilian infrastructure crumbling, Israel is facing the repercussions of its zionist arrogance.

Iran’s response is a legitimate exercise of self-defense, aimed at deterring a regime that has assassinated Iranian scientists, bombed its facilities, and collaborated with Western powers to enforce a racist hierarchy in the Middle East.

Consequences of Western Aggression
The strikes on Iran are not merely military actions but a continuation of a racist, colonialist agenda to dominate the Global South. By deploying B-2 stealth bombers and bunker-busting bombs, Trump has betrayed his anti-war rhetoric, aligning with Israel’s supremacist policies.

The strikes have killed over 400 Iranians, predominantly civilians, including 54 women and children, according to Iran’s Ministry of Health. Israel’s attacks on Iranian fuel depots, airports, and public buildings risk an environmental catastrophe, further punishing a nation targeted for its refusal to bow to Western hegemony.

The EU’s silence emboldens this aggression, signaling to non-Western nations that their sovereignty is secondary to Western interests.

Russia and China have condemned Israel’s strikes, with President Vladimir Putin calling them “highly dangerous” and President Xi Jinping urging a ceasefire.

The G7’s failure to issue a unified statement reflects Trump’s isolationist recklessness, prioritizing military dominance over diplomacy.

In the U.S., Senator Bernie Sanders has denounced the strikes as an unconstitutional act of war, warning of global instability.

Economically, the West risks destabilizing global markets. Iran’s threats to restrict the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world’s oil flows, could spike energy prices and exacerbate inflation. By attacking Iran, the U.S. and Israel have strengthened Tehran’s hardliners, who may see nuclear armament as the only defense against colonialist aggression.

This outcome undermines Western claims of preventing Iran’s nuclearization, exposing the hypocrisy of their agenda.

A Call for Global Resistance
The international community, particularly nations of the Global South, must resist this racist, colonialist assault. The UN Security Council should convene an emergency session to condemn the U.S. and Israel, imposing sanctions for violating the UN Charter and NPT.

Iran’s right to self-defense must be upheld, and its potential NPT withdrawal understood as a consequence of Western provocation.

The EU must be called out for its complicity in enabling Israel’s aggression, revealing its colonialist bias.

A global movement for justice must demand an immediate ceasefire and reparations for Iran’s losses. The U.S. and Israel’s actions threaten not only Iran but the sovereignty of all nations resisting Western domination.

Iran’s response, rooted in its right to self-defense, is a clarion call to reject the racist hierarchy that underpins Western foreign policy. The world must stand with Iran to halt this colonialist aggression before it engulfs us all in chaos.
