Two Arrested with Narcotics at Ayi Mensah; Police Pursue Third Suspect

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two individuals in connection with the possession of large quantities of substances suspected to be narcotics at Ayi Mensah in the Greater Accra Region.

The suspects, identified as Mathew Narkotey and Augustine Teye, were apprehended on Saturday, June 7,2025, by a patrol team from the National Operations Department.

According to a statement released by the Police, the two men were on board a Mazda pick-up truck with registration number GT 3490-P when a routine search uncovered eleven large compressed sacks of the suspected narcotic substance concealed within the vehicle.

The vehicle and the substances have been impounded at the joint operation centre for purposes

Both suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.

Police have also launched a manhunt for a third individual, identified only as Martey, who was named by the suspects as the intended recipient of the consignment.

The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring that individuals involved in the distribution of illicit drugs are brought to justice.
